Introduction
Lets try to keep this crisp and concise but i fear thats not what i would end up doing as I already have got an idea as to what I am going to scribble about today. So my views on the raging topic of today...not that there's not enough already on the web...but yeah like others I too wish to have my say and in a democracy like ours this is what we really are good at....so i get up today morning and the first thing i get to hear from my Dad is the government has decided to implement the OBC reservation....i get up from my daze which usually gets over only when i get into my shower...but then how does it affect me...i mumble a few things....voice my opinion against the government and then carry on with my daily routine....reach office..check my mails which have fair share of the reservation spams we techies are so good at....i myself forward them, quietly listen to my colleagues voicing their dissent against the reservation...and for me I somehow control the seething anger that I have against this policy....looking back at us...we Indians have always been the docile lots....quiet people...more than 100 years of slavery courtesy the betrayal of our own countrymen...the "chalta hai" attitude...this has all contributed to where we are today...Mr.Nehru in his Independence speech talkd about hanging any body found corrupt or black marketing at the red fort but to date nothing of the sort happened....not because there weren't any corrupt men....just because there wasn't the political will power to do any such thing....Indian politics in its first 30 years of freedom lost all the flamboyant politicians it had and there weren't many worthy people who joined it which led to a serious dearth of leadership....if you look back at the Indian politics in its last twenty years its just gone down the drains....baring a few there just hasn't been any leader you could assocaite yourself with....most of the politicians either have a political back ground or a criminal.....Politics became a lucrative profession....and the best use of the illiterate minorities and lower class of the society (this strata of the socitey has its own share of the so called forward caste people) was made use of....so at their cost and by exploiting their votes under the umbrella of democracy and secularism Indian politics sadly became a full fledged "caste based politics"....The driving force and the majority stake holder of the society, the great Indian middle class disassociated itself from the Indian politics as a sign of protest...the voter turn out of this strata of society dramatically decreased, there was nill participation from this group...and they left themselves at the mercy of the new generation of shrewd, illiterate politicians with loads of criminal case lodged against them...so while the educated middle class which was expected to take the mantle of developing the socitey took a backseat by boycotting politics these VIP criminals prospered....and look where we have reached today...we have signature campaigns today, forums all across the web, hunger strikes, protests...just so many of them but when the actual time of correcting things would come...all of us would be silently sitting at home maybe enjoying the holidays due to the elections....if this remains our attittude this was something that should have been anticicpated....you shouldn't expect morons to run the country for you in the best possible way.....My wrist no longer permits me to write anymore...so i'll wind up by saying if all of us really want to make a difference...guys take the governance of the country in your own hands or atleast aid the process which helps to choose the ministers....not just vote in the elections(this for me should be a mandatory law in a democracy)....actively participate in it.....reach the grass root levels...educate the illiterate masses that they are just being exploited....that even after more than 50 years of freedom they are illiterate because it suits the convenience of the politicians...this is the only way we can really make a differnce to the society and safeguard the future of the coming generations...

Good one Sid .. i hope this atleast lights up some people grey cells...
hmm .. badhiya lika hai ... agree word to word with you
your practical solution sounds ridiculous to me gaurav...in fact such a soltuion was least expected of you...you really surprised me....merit and quality shouldn't be compromised at any cost...if the government was honest about its intentions the first step should have been taken from the elementary level...before making them engineers, doctors or an MBA at least provide them with a basic education....can you imagine the nightmare of having to work with such a co-worker in our competitive industry (yes China is a big threat)...oh gosh why am i even trying to give you an explanation....all i can say if this is really what you think of it you have disappointed me
although m completely agree wid u..u have written an ideal voice.but there are times when the loudest voice has the most silent effect...it looks so nice n smooth while reading....but tell me frankly .. how many times u tried to protest it...there r just two known n simple ways of livin... just live the life as natural as it comes to u...or get up and fite agnst all these odds n crap.....
plotics is not wrong at all only the people involved in it r....but why don you guys take some initiative to make it good for all...even some of the guys frm IIT-K n B hv started PARITRANA-the complete relief...they may go off road but the initial steps are for good intentions only....there is more to say......just wrapin up...dude
Things may have been well said but instead of putting all the blame on a corrupt politician who may have “politicized” a decision, I would rather challenge the premise that we, “middle class-the ultimate political victims” at the hands of illiterate leaders have only contributed to the ongoing woe by our non-participation. There has been more than one way we are working towards our own decline. The entire bureaucratic machinery that surrounds the politician and gives shape (I would rather say they are the ones who suggest) to these ideas offensive to the basic equality of an individual is comprised of this so called middle class. It is this machinery that gets lubricated by the oils of corruption to begin with. They need to be shot down first, for they don’t even have the excuse of being illiterate and not knowing anything better. I, being part of this “middle class” am a strong proponent of washing my own laundry before pointing at other’s stains!! It’s not our inactions but rather our own agenda which needs to be rectified. My two paise!
Hey Sid...Nice ideas..Not adding much, I think it is high time our so-called "leaders" should be made aware that they cannot befool the whole nation anymore.
A thoughful and nice blog Sid.Keep writing.Looking forward to more.
